Record Audio on Your Mac. Wiretap is one of those applications that you can't believe has a free element because it does something incredible. Wiretap simply records any audio playing on your Mac and saves it to an audio file (an AIFF). So, you could be listening to a radio station in iTunes, or listening to a news feed on the web, tell Wiretap to record it, save it to an audio file, drop the audio file into iTunes and then record a CD of the news feed! It is so simple you can't believe it. I use Wiretap occasionally and am glad it is in my software arsenal. There are two versions, a free version (part of Wiretap Pro) and an professional version. The professional version is $19 and includes additional features. ie: the ability to schedule recordings, save as MP3 and more!
